What happens when a Navy SEAL wakes from a month-long coma to discover he’s being investigated for murder?

When Ensign Brett Weaver is accused of murder, he knows he’s innocent, but how can he prove it with Naval Investigators breathing down his neck? A chance meeting with reporter Tess Kelly offers him an opportunity to get the press on his side. But can he trust her to keep his other secrets off the record?

Tess works hard to live up to her father's expectations. When Brett offers her information about SEAL training in exchange for an introduction to her award-winning journalist father, she jumps at the chance. The situation Brett lobs into her father's lap is a major scoop. But the secret she discovers about Brett is just as newsworthy. Will her feelings for this wounded warrior win out, or will she release a story guaranteed to destroy Brett’s SEAL career?

When Tess’s father is kidnapped, Brett’s team is deployed to find him. At the same time, a leak in the investigation puts Tess and Brett’s lives in danger. Will Brett be able to break through the lasting effects of his injuries and prove he’s once again a battle-ready SEAL? Or will he and Tess lose everything at the whim of a vengeful killer?

OMG what a brilliant story. I was transfixed. I could not put it down. Second book in series. The story flows effortlessly and carries you along the rollercoaster of events. On the edge of your seat stuff. So much more than a love story. It was a tense thrilling story full of twists and turns. Great characters who are so believable and loveable. I love the sense of family within the team. Sense of honour and code of conduct. These guys might be fierce on the battle field but they are so passionate and protective. Some difficult subject matter covered which was heart breaking and caused a few tears to be shed, you have to remind yourself it is the product of a fantastic imagination with excellent writing skills. It was hard to differentiate fact from fiction. Great sense of humour too and some real laugh out loud moments. I can't wait to see what happens next. Excellent series and well worth the money. For the hopeless romantic who loves a strong background story to pull it all together.

This is another great read in this series. Loads of action. Heat only occurs after time building relationships. Note this book fits, timeline wise, before chapter 28 of the previous book. Some things have changed from first book. E.g. derrick''s girlfriend was Marjorie, but book 2 has her as Melanie. In book 1 hawk only sees zoes pregnant on return of 6 month deployment. In book 2 his men tell him whilst on that deployment. Other small issues. They don't affect this story but they are a tad irritating as are the many typos, spelling & punctuation errors. I still rate the book as 5* as great story, well written in itself, except the typos.

Love it love it love it! The characters again do not let us down and the storyline keeps me turning page after page. My glasses have never had this much use as in the past few weeks. I'm finding brilliant books and series and this is definitely on of those. Well worth the read, if you have just found this book, it's worth buying the first in the series and reading that first but not absolutely necessary. 5 stars again for me.

Having read both Teresa's books, in the Heartbreakers series, I couldn't say which is best, believe me, they are both very exciting romantic sexy and sometimes very emotional. I contacted Teresa as I kept going onto Amazon (in the hopes the 3rd book would appear ) and was delighted to get an answer that it will be out probably in November. The best bit is there will be even more. GREAT> She is worth reading.

This book sort of overlaps with the first, so to understand what is happening you need to read the first book in the series.
Again, loved all the characters, and the storyline flowed throughout. This author has got a great series in the making

This book is part two of the SEAL Team Heartbreaker series and I recommend reading the first installment of the series ("Breaking Free") before you read this one. Not that this book couldn't stand alone but believe me when I say you definitely don't want to miss the first installment either!

(Little spoiler for those who haven't read book 1) The first book ended when Zoe discovered that she was pregnant but couldn't find the right moment to tell Hawk. Then, all of a sudden Hawk leaves for a six months deployment without knowing about Zoe's condition. Zoe goes on with her life and then Hawk returns from this deployment to propose to her. (End spoiler) Why am I going so detailed into this? Because "Breaking Through" basically deals with what happens shortly before this deployment and as soon as Brett wakes up from his coma and ends shortly after Hawk's return from the deployment. Hence, there's a lot of overlapping which could more easily be followed through if someone has read book 1.

I expected this book to be pretty much about Brett but was positively surprised to find out that the book contained three romances and all of them involving the Weaver family. Furthermore, the plot included more details on Brett's last mission that went wrong and involved the disappearance of a young Iraqi, whose father took drastic measures to avenge his son's death.

Brett and Tess: Brett (Zoe's brother) hasn't yet been cleared for duty. Firstly, his commanding officer believes that he hasn't yet overcome his speech difficulties and secondly there seems to be some problems referring to the circumstances leading to his injury during his last mission. Accidentally Brett meets Tess, a journalist, whose father is well connected and could help him clear his name. Both feel attracted to each other but neither is sure about the other's priorities. Nice love story but slightly overshadowed by the developments around Zoe and Hawk.

Clara and Russell: Clara is Brett and Zoe's mother, Russell his doctor. When she arrives at the airport she accidentally runs into him and a very nice romance develops. I liked the fact that those two were a bit older and more experienced. They handled the difficulties arising around his son's condition perfectly and I very much appreciated their approach to each other. Well done!

Zoe and Hawk: What can I say?! I think those two overshadowed with their deep feelings for another the other two love stories. Not that Zoe wasn't on a par with Hawk in book 1, but I think she excelled herself in this installment. I believe that her pregnancy and how she handled all the issues around the threats and changes in her life let her mature. Hawk was the absolute alpha male! Drop-dead gorgeous! Not the brainless exemplar but the leader who knew how to take calculated risks to ensure his team's safety and welfare and a worthy partner to his wife. Absolutely beautiful!

Yes, this book is about SEALs, the risk they take and how they and their families suffer. However, this book focuses on their destinies and emotions instead of the bloodletting and bloodthirsty battle scenes. And this was achieved masterly and perfectly! Can't wait for the next book!

5.0 out of 5 stars This is why I love a good military romance.....

Excellent story! 4.5 stars. This is why I love a good military-romance. Breaking Through was a very worthwhile read and a great way to spend my time lost in a satisfying story. TR has a great writing style and this was a wonderful addition to Breaking Free. Didn't want to put this bk down, intriguing storyline, lots of action, really good drama and I love the characters. Happy to know that Hawk and Zoe's story continues here. The depth of their relationship is heart melting as they struggle to deal with their intense love for each other along with having the ups and downs of Hawk's deployment. In this story that was a real challenge. This series is aptly titled Seal Team Heartbreakers. This story really made me stop and think about what real life soldiers endure having to leave their families and loved ones behind when duty calls and how difficult that must be on both sides. The wonder and worry until they hopefully reunite safely home. Hawk and Zoe share the limelight with Zoe's brother Brett as well as a story with Zoe/Brett's mother Clara. The scenes with Zoe doing rehab with amputees was a heart grabber. Love the camaraderie of the Seals, their banter as well as their cohesiveness as a team. Looking forward to bk 3. Just hope the wait isn't too long.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very emotional book!! Loved it
Reviewed in the United States on 9 September 2012
This book packs a punch. There are so many emotional moments I cried at a few of them.

This book is a continuation from the first book. Brett is now released from the hospital but still isn't cleared for duty. Zoe and Hawk are still very much in love but not rushing things even though Zoe is keeping a secret from him. Brett and Zoe's mom comes back and she runs into Brett's Dr from when he was in a coma, Russell and his son at the airport and sparks fly. All the old team is back except for Derrick who is in jail and Flash who is still missing/AWOL.

"Brett and Tess" Brett still hasnt been cleared for duty and he is asked to do a speaking engagement in front of 200 women. Not his idea of funny especially with the speech problem his still has from the attempt on his life. Tess is at the event to cover it for the paper she works for. They both are attracted to each other but with everything that is going on it Brett's life getting involved with a reporter probably isn't the best thing. But when Brett is accused of the disappearance and possible death of the teen child he and Derrick were to have dropped of at his home in Iraq he knows he is going to need to help to expose what is really going on. It was good to see Brett back on his feet even though it seemed like it was just one bad thing after another as far as his job went. He and Tess made a great team and couple once they really started trusting each other.

"Zoe and Hawk" <little spoiler>Zoe finds out at the beginning of the book she is pregnant but with everything that had been going on in Hawk life she doesn't want to add anymore stress to him so she doesn't tell him<end spoiler> Hawk who is still reeling from the betrayal of Derrick against the team and is now facing charges from the way he and the team went in and saved Zoe, Brett and Derrick's girl friend from Derrick. Hawk is the leader of these band of men and he still had a strong presence in this book. It was great to see how his and Zoe's relationship was progressing.

"Clara (mom of Zoe and Brett) and Russell" Clara who was very prominent in the first book but had left to go help her other daughter toward the end comes back to be with Brett and Zoe. At the airport she runs into Russell who had been Brett's Dr. He is there to pick up his son who he hasnt seen in a while. Both Clara and Russell realize he is very sick when they see him. Clara who is like the best mother hen around decides she is going to cook for them and bring it over and this starts a beautiful romance between the two. But it also is the most heartbreaking where Russell's son Evan is concerned. Their story in the book had me crying more than once.

As all of these stories are going on, the father of the missing Iraqi boy makes a grave mistake and goes to a radical terrorist to exact revenge on those who he thinks killed his son. This puts Brett and the whole team including there families in grave danger.

As this is an on going series there are still many loose ends. I know its going to be the last book of the series before we find out what really went wrong with Derrick. I dont know who's next in the series but I cant wait.
